Darin Sand, Director of Sustainability
Mr. Sand directs Goodman Realty Group’s sustainability and historic preservation initiatives. Most recently he played a pivotal role in the sustainable renovation of the Hotel Andaluz, a national and city historic landmark. The hotel achieved LEED Gold certification and is one of only two historic hotels in the United States with this distinction.
At Goodman Realty Group, Mr. Sand’s role comprises the oversight of LEED certification, historic preservation, environmental remediation, special projects and financial incentives including federal, state and local tax credits, grants and rebates.
Mr. Sand is also Vice President and board member of the Uptown Progress Team and serves as Executive Director and a board member for the Cultural Center of the Southwest.
Before joining Goodman Realty Group, Mr. Sand worked for The Way International where he served as the New Mexico State Manager. His background also includes planning and coordination of executive management conferences and special events for major organizations including NASCAR, General Electric Corporation, Pennzoil and Compaq Computers.
Mr. Sand holds a degree in Theology, and he is recognized by the United States Green Building Council as an Accredited LEED professional.
